About
Northfield blueberries began in 1981 when Robert (Bob) Carson planted his first blueberry plants in the north corner of his farm. A field that had not been very productive for potatoes and the various other crops that the Carson family grew for farmers markets, this piece of land made an excellent place for blueberries to grow and flourish! Thus began a venture that has lasted for over 40 years!
The Carson family has spent a lifetime growing potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and a number of other different vegetables and fruits to attend local farmers markets. ( Markets that our blueberries are still sold at today!) Changing focus away from strawberries to high-bush blueberries and select vegetables, Bob has learned a great deal about hard work, dedication and the joys and trials of farming. He has a lifetime of knowledge that has led to Northfield Blueberries successfully growing to over 8 acres of plants in 8 different varieties!

In 2021, Wayne and Jennifer Wiley began the process of taking over Northfield Blueberries and easing the workload for Bob. Jennifer has worked at Northfield since she was 13 years old- starting with picking blueberries as a summer job, and gradually working her way through grading and packing produce, harvesting vegetables and everything in between! Working with every aspect of the blueberry patch over the years has been a great joy for Jennifer, and with no obvious family wanting to take over the blueberries, it was an ideal situation for her and her husband Wayne to come along side Bob in the farm.
Today Jennifer and her family manage the day to day operations of the farm, she is the face that you will see when you come to visit, along with Wayne and their children (who are often running, playing and greeting pickers as well).
